WHO MAKES UP GLASSHOUSE CHURCH?

We are a diverse community of people brought together by our common desire to simply follow Jesus, without a lot of man-made religious traditions and trappings.

Our church is located in the small town of Davidson, North Carolina but we serve a big God who wants to reach as many as possible.   We are committed to serving people in the Lake Norman area, without losing touch with all the friends and family we have worldwide.  Jesus told us to love our neighbor and to go into all the world.  We try our best to obey both commands with all available means.

If you live in the area, we hope you can call The GlassHouse Church home.  But even if you can’t be here in person, we want to connect our living room to yours through some of our audio/video resources.  After all, the church is not a place, but a people.

WHERE DID THE NAME GLASSHOUSE CHURCH COME FROM?

There is an old proverb that says If you live in a Glass House, you should not throw stones.

In the New Testament book of John, chapter 8, we see Jesus restoring a sin-shattered life through grace and truth.

A woman was caught in the very act of adultery, a sin punishable in those days by being battered to death with large rocks. Jesus told the condemning crowd who stood ready to pass judgement, the one without sin should cast the first stone. One by one her accusers dropped their rocks and walked away in silence as they saw they were just as guilty of their sins as she was of hers.

The best part of this story comes when Jesus is left alone with the woman and tells her:Neither do I condemn younow go leave your life of sin. What a balance! GRACEand TRUTH.

No stones were thrown, but a shattered life was restored and placed on The Rock of Christ Jesus. Thats what GlassHouse Church means to us.

WHO IS PASTOR SCOTT CLAUNCH?

Scott is just a grateful follower of Jesus with a God-given knack for teaching the Bible in ways that people can understand, remember, and apply to their lives.

From 1999-2012, Scott served as a pastor within the Calvary Chapel association of churches (CalvaryChapel.org) in the South Florida area.

He also hosted a live weekly radio show called Talk About It! on 90.9 LIFE FM in Miami that gave listeners the opportunity to call in with Biblical questions.

Scott and his wife Lynn are celebrating 27 years of marriage and look forward to many more. They have three wonderful children (but do not look forward to many more!) They also have a dog named Grace.
